The Power of Partnership with KERA
Since Bachman Lake Together’s founding, we’ve known that lasting change happens when we work with others, not alone. Every program, every success story, and every milestone has been fueled by strong partnerships with organizations that share our belief in the power of parents and community. Our role as a backbone has allowed us to align efforts and intentionally collaborate to make our work deeper, more creative, and more responsive to families’ needs. Our partnership with KERA's Education Team is just one example of that impact in action.
This past year, Bachman Lake Together and KERA teamed up to bring joyful, hands-on learning to families in our community. Through 10 bilingual workshops hosted between July 2024 and June 2025, 81 families and 98 children explored themes like mindfulness, emotional regulation, and STEM learning using trusted PBS KIDS resources such as Molly of Denali and Work It Out Wombats!
Parents reported powerful growth in confidence, reporting:
94% of parents feeling more confident creating school-readiness opportunities for their child(ren) at home.
A 30% increase in confidence supporting their children’s mindfulness and emotional regulation
And 93% of parents were motivated by the workshops to discover creative ways to model practices with their child(ren) like mindful breathing and calming exercises at home.
One parent shared, “Having the opportunity to experience the activities provided helped me become aware of how eager parents are to keep learning ways to help their children grow.”
These results remind us that when trusted partners come together, families thrive.
Reflecting on this collective impact, Lisa Bracken, Director of Education at KERA, shared, “It is an honor to collaborate with one of our lead partners, Bachman Lake Together. This partnership exemplifies our shared commitment to lead critical efforts in the community that advance advocacy, raise awareness, and positively impact children and families."
This is just one of many partnerships we remain deeply grateful for. We know our impact is bigger and more intentional when we work together. Take a look at how partnerships like this one allowed us to collectively maximize community impact in our 2024–2025 Impact Report.
