Celebrating Community at Hispanic Heritage Night
On Friday, September 26, Bachman Lake Together hosted our annual Hispanic Heritage Night, bringing families, partners, and volunteers together for an evening of culture, connection, and celebration.
The event filled the Bachman Lake Together Family Center with energy and joy as over 160 community members came together—88 children and 73 adults representing 86 families. From colorful folklorico performances to interactive partner tables, families enjoyed learning, playing, and celebrating what makes our community so vibrant.
A highlight of the night was a beautiful performance by the Walnut Hill International Leadership Academy’s folklorico program, who brought tradition to life through dance. Families also explored resource tables hosted by several partners, including AVANCE North Texas, Lumin Education, Dallas Innovation Alliance, Wellpoint, UTD Center for Children and Families, La Fundación de Cristo/Christ’s Foundry, Uplift Education, City of Dallas Aquatics, Dallas ISD Family Engagement, Casa San Luis, and the Dallas Mavericks. Together, they shared valuable information on education, health, and family resources.
This celebration was also made possible thanks to volunteers from incredible groups, including the Dallas Mavericks, Mike & Mary Terry Family Foundation, Southwest Airlines, and the National Hispanic Institute, who dedicated their time to creating a warm and welcoming experience. We also extend gratitude to our in-kind donors, including QuikTrip, McDonald’s, and the Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas, whose contributions helped make the evening special.
Hispanic Heritage Night offered more than just a celebration—it served as a reminder of the power of community, connection, and family. We are grateful to everyone who joined us and helped create a night full of joy and family wellbeing.
