Kamila Vargas-Gonzalez

Kamila is serving as the Fundraising and Communications intern at Bachman Lake Together, where she creates compelling content and strategies to uplift family voices, deepen community engagement, and contribute to the financial sustainability of our work. Kamila believes bridging communities occurs through writing and advocacy—writing is not only a powerful form of self-expression but also a means to amplify the voices of her communities. As a Bachman Lake native, Dallas ISD alum, Dallas County Promise recipient, and recent receiver of a B.A. in Corporate Communication and Public Affairs from Southern Methodist University, she merges her experiences, from strategic communications, journalism, and community engagement, to drive her commitment to making a real impact.  

At her core she believes in the transformative power of using storytelling as a tool to connect us, ignite our passions, and inspire us to create a better world together.
